Travelling to Malaga matches from Benalmadena and Arroyo de la Miel
Many ex-pats and holidaymakers alike make the short trip to Malaga to support the local Spanish team, Malaga CF. Some go by bus or train, whilst others travel on organised coach trips arranged by certain bars in Benalmadena and other resorts on the Costa del Sol. If you have never been to a Spanish football match, make the effort as the atmosphere is fantastic and totally different to what is usual in the UK. Malaga are now in the Spanish 1st division after finishing 2nd in the 2nd division at the end of the 2007/2008 season.
Next season will see the return of the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid to Malaga's La Rosaleda stadium. A lot more information in English can be gained from The International Supporters Club of Malaga FC, which is based in Marbella. They also have coach trips available for home matches, with several pick up points. Malaga CF official site, (in Spanish), is here. Ticket information here.
