Benalmadena is the perfect all year round holiday resort, with around 300 days of sunshine and an average annual temperature of eighteen degrees centigrade.
The Costa del Sol as a whole has the best climate in mainland Europe, and it has been known for temperatures to reach the mid twenties even in January and February.
In the months of July and August, daytime temperatures can and do rise above forty degrees centigrade, and great care should be taken regarding dehydration.
The sea temperatures from July through to October are on average around twenty degrees, with fifteen degrees the norm for the rest of the year.
